Thunder Ridge Border Collies
My name is Monika, and my love for Border Collies began in 2007 when a friend's dog captivated me with its intelligence and agility. This encounter sparked my passion for dog training and sports, and while I couldn’t have a Border Collie at the time, I always dreamed of owning one. In 2017, I welcomed Rosie, my first Border Collie, and together we explored agility, scent work, dock diving, and more, immersing ourselves in the world of dog sports.

As I delved deeper into the breed, studying bloodlines, health, and genetics, I saw the need for well-bred Border Collies. This led to the founding of Thunder Ridge Border Collies, where we focus on producing healthy, well-tempered dogs for both sport and companionship. Our foundation female, Pivot, comes from strong working lines and is expecting her first litter in early 2025. We also look forward to introducing Star, one of our promising males, into the breeding program in the near future.
Breeding Goals

Our mission at Thunder Ridge Border Collies is to breed outstanding Border Collies that are not only healthy and well-tempered but also versatile and driven. We aim to produce dogs with balanced temperaments, strong work ethics, intelligence, and agility to excel in various activities and stock work. Our Border Collies are not just athletes; they are cherished companions known for their loyalty, affection, and adaptability. All our dogs undergo thorough genetic health testing and have successfully passed all OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) evaluations. Each litter is carefully planned, considering multiple factors to ensure we produce the best possible puppies.

Work Ethic and Drive: We select breeding pairs that exhibit a strong work ethic and high drive, along with a good off-switch, essential traits for excelling in various dog sports and working environments.

Location

Thunder Ridge Border Collies is located on the edge of beautiful Barrie, Ontario. We occasionally whelp litters in Orono, Ontario. Our dogs accompany us in all our activities, whether running errands, exploring nature, biking, paddleboarding, or enjoying movie nights and playdates. They are spoiled and loved, and everyone who meets them falls in love with their sweet temperaments and fun personalities.
